I don't know why you said that it was Alexander the Great and the Macedonians that started the killing Greece. As a Greek himself, Alexander the Great was the zenith of Hellenistic civilization in terms of the sheer scope of his empire and its influence of the region. After all, the Greeks would install House Ptolemy on the Egyptian throne as Pharaohs, which would outlast Greece itself.
